Le New Theatre Institute of Latvia est un centre de soutien aux professionnels du théâtre : il encourage le théâtre indépendant et veut dépasser les frontières entre les différentes sphères professionnelles (création/production /diffusion). Ce lieu promeut à la fois l'accès et l'échange de l'information, l'éducation au théâtre et son financement.
Sa vocation internationale, au-delà des réseaux et des partenariats, s'affirme aussi dans l'organisation de festivals de théâtre (tels que Homo Novus ou Homo Alibi), comme dans la production et la diffusion de spectacles provenant de pays étrangers.

The New Theatre Institute of Latvia is a national, regional and international theatre centre serving the existing and emerging theatre professionals, their audience and focusing on international co-operation. The NTIL is a non-governmental organisation, which encourages the development of the independent theatre in Latvia with an aim to overcome the existing boundaries in theatre organisation, creation, distribution and perception.
The NTIL is promoting the accessibility and circulation of information on the events, possibilities of gaining education and financing in the area of theatre among the theatre professionals.
The NTIL is a member of several international networks (IETM, ENICPA, THEOREM) and acts as a partner in international projects. The NTIL promotes cooperation and the exchange of information also on a regional level.
The NTIL organizes international theatre festivals Homo Novus” and Homo Alibi. Separately and in cooperation with partner organizations the NTIL produces performances and organizes guest performances from other countries.
