A kétestés vetítésen olyan rövid alkotásokat láthatunk, amelyek a mozgókép adta lehetőségekkel élve a test mozgását, a személyes térélményt, a performativitást mint időben kiteljesedő folyamatot fogalmazzák meg

A peninsula (in Latin, literally meaning "almost island") is a geographical formation consisting of an extension of land from a larger body, surrounded by water on three sides. The choice of having this "almost island" as a metaphorical backdrop relates to the initial premise of this project: Everything is (or can be) connected...

The Peninsula is an art film-video anthology that consists of three screenings within a cinema space and a multi-channel video exhibition. The body of works is drawn together by a series of loose references and associations relating to artists who communicate a personal sense of space. Their spaces involve politics, art, society, identity, travel , amongst others, and the everyday via performative gestures, texts and relations. Within the framework of producing works specifically for the film/video platform, The Peninsula has been designed to cater to presentations by artists who explore the concepts of performativity as a time-based media. Professing a keen rejection of merelyrecordinglive performances or treatingdocumentsas artworks, within The Peninsula artworks utilize image, sound, text and music as a performative whole. Opting to treat the medium as a genre of its own with an understanding of its potentials as a powerful form of (mis)communication. In order to facilitate feedback on the different works, and how they can be read within The Peninsula, we have invited Rodney LaTourelle, a writer and artist from Canada, to participate as writer-in-residence. Over the course of the project, LaTourelle will be examining the works individually and as parts of the larger grouping(s). The resulting texts will be presented as a parallel project to the on-site screening of the film/videos.
