Oskar Dawicki is well-known for his ironic, cunic, subtle anarchistic actions. He puts inquiring questions, sometimes private, sometimes general, refering to paradoxes of reality in which we exist. When he worked in one of Cracow's advertising agencies he smuggled on leaflets and advertising posters microscopic self portraits.
The artist is interested in "conventionality" of reality, he is questioning existing public order (structures), puts in doubt the most obvious facts. During one of performances Dawicki asked his audience "Does Oskar Dawicki really exist?" In the Zache˛ta Gallery he presented documentation of the action called "O", in which a private detective followed the artist. The detective was convinced that he was hired by the future father-in-law of "O", and that the case is absolutely serious. He was trying to answer the question if the followed peson is suitable for a husband.

Born in 1971, graduated from the Fine Arts Department at the Mikolaj Kopernik University in Torun. Member of Azorro group. Lives and works in Warsaw.

For Temps d’Images Festival 2006 Oskar Dawicki does the TV commercial of a painting, oil on canvas by Rafa? Bujnowski, the best selling polish artist.
